Drone racing is quickly becoming a very popular activity. I mean, who wouldn’t love to fly a drone while watching in First Person View through your real time image Goggles? Well if having to build your own racing drone was stopping you from racing, I have good news for you. There are already some great pre-built racing drones currently in the market! Walkera had already entered the racing business with Runner 250, but now they have stepped up the game releasing Furious 320 a tilt-motor racer. Yes, you read well, the motors actually tilt, you will find out why in a minute. So, as always, we at FPV Drone Reviews bring to you the best of the very best, let’s take a deeper look.
Walkera 320: Tilt-Motors (9/10)
Furious 320 motors are something Walkera have never done before. Four brushless articulated motors. This means they rotate forward as you give the quad more stick, consequently the quad body stays steady and aerodynamic instead of leaning 45º like it usually occurs with drones. This decreases drag and provide a faster acceleration. Walkera Furious 320 advertises a top speed of 120km per hour (around 80 miles per hour).
Walkera 320: Material (7/10)
The Furious 320 frame is made out of a very resistant type of material: carbon fibre. You will not break or bend this quadcopter easily. However some parts of this drone are made of plastic (such as some parts of the motor together with also carbon fibre). With this in mind, Furious 320 is not the most resistant drone out there in the market. But still capable of enduring some hard crashes! You may notice Furious 320 is a bit heavier than most racing drones, this is not due to the built. It is because of the 4S 2600mah battery.
Walkera 320: Camera (8/10)
The Furious 320 FPV Drone has a high quality built-in camera with 12 megapixels capable of shooting in 1080p. Not the basic FPV camera, this camera actually provides very good quality footage. Real time image also has good quality (transmitting in 5.8 Ghz frequency) with a Live View Speed of 60 frames per second! One of the great things about Furious 320 camera is the capability of both recording and transmitting FPV. Most other racing drone’s camera usually just allows for FPV. Pilots have to attach a camera for flight footage. That being said, with Furious 320 you don’t need to worry. This camera will ensure everything is covered.
Note: There is a CC3D version of Furious 320 which comes with an 800tvl camera instead.
Walkera 320: On-Screen Display (7/10)
One-Screen Display provides all the necessary flight live data to the pilot. Runner 250 was Walkera’s first drone with OSD. For Furious 320 they have upgraded it. This OSD is now more responsive and includes more information than before such as the Roll and Pitch degrees. A detailed OSD, a must to any serious FPV racer.
Walkera 320: Flight Controller (7/10)
The Walkera Furious 320 RTF comes with a Walkera DEVO 10 radio controller. An older generation transmitter from Walkera, but still very powerful, and yes it does have 10 channels. It works in 2.4 Ghz frequency, it has an ARM micro computer system and uses 4.8V-6V 1300mAH batteries.
